In a move that will likely end the incoming Fiorentina mercato for the summer, Jasmin Kurtic has joined on loan from Sassuolo. The 25 year old Slovenian midfielder impressed with Sassuolo and then Torino last season, and has been eager for the move to happen, having reportedly spoken repeatedly with his international teammate Josip Ilicic. With all of the reputable sites reporting the deal as done, we only await the official clubs' confirmation.
Sassuolo has set the outright price for the box to box midfielder at €5 million, if Fiorentina were interested in retaining his services after the year loan. While not a world beater, Kurtic looks a handy and Serie A savvy signing who will increase the tactical and depth options at Vincenzo Montella's disposal (especially when the Europa League gets underway). Kurtic is also a full international who (I would say) hasn't peaked yet, and may grow greatly with a talented team and an intelligent coach.
Also he had a pretty good game against la Viola on the last day of last season. If he scores a couple like the one he had for Torino's second equalizer then he could be a very good signing indeed!
