Genoa and Fiorentina have struck a deal over the transfer of Facundo Roncaglia to the Luigi Ferraris stadium. Roncaglia, one of viola fans' favorite players, will have a medical in Genoa today, after which he's set to sign a deal with the grifone.
You've guessed it, it's a loan with the option to buy, and the price is set at €3m.
After two seasons spent conquering the hearts of Fiorentina fans, Roncaglia is leaving in search of regular first-team football. The Argentine is also hoping to get back to his national team, which won't be possible unless he's playing club football every weekend.
Roncaglia's best performances for Fiorentina were at the beginning of his adventure at the Artemio Franchi. Even though he's a right back, he was doing best as a part of three-man backline. That means the choice to move to Genoa is a smart one, since coach Gian Piero Gasperini is a fan of the 3-4-3 formation.
We wish all the best to el torito and hope he is very successful at his new club. Except in the next round of Serie A, when we hope he loses.
