BRAZIL 1-7 GERMANY
It was one of those bad days in football for the Brazilian team; Neymar and Silva who were probably the best Brazilians this tournament could not take part in the match against Germany. The Europeans translated a corner kick to a goal by Mueller in a World class fashion. All the Germans in the box attracted the Brazilian defense to the near post leaving Mueller on his own to tap the ball in the net. Scolari and his boys with all the confidence in the world rushed to score the tie goal and turn the match as soon as possible; this is when things went really south. Klose and Kroos scored capitalizing on mistakes made by the rushing Brazilians. Klose added insult to injury with his goal leaving Ronaldo behind him as World Cup's history best goal scorer with 16 goals. Now it was time Brazil switched things up and tried to calm the match but the backline and defensive midfielders were not able to hold on to the ball for possession and continued to make mistakes resulting in two more goals signed by Kroos and Khedira. Half an hour into the match and it was over. Lowe introduced Schulle in the second half in place of Klose to score two more goals before Oscar scored the honor Brazilian goal.
I read no news and heard nothing of what happened after the match but what I saw at the final whistle shows why Brazil is a team that is able to bounce back in no time from such a horrible loss. The whole team including Scolari stood with heads held high after the match and apologized to their fans. The Brazilian fans are as well on another level of sportsmanship. They clapped for Schulle's second goal simply because it was one of the best in the tournament. They cheered for Oscar when he scored even though it was the last minute.
