Brazil & Germany were in control as they knockout Disappointing France and Colombia

GERMANY 1-0 FRANCE

BRAZIL 2-1 COLOMBIA

The first day of the quarterfinals witnessed two of the worst matches in this current World Cup. Colombia and France looked like Serie B teams. They were hit early in their respective games by defenders Alves from Brazil and Hummels from Germany and did not half the quality to fight back. Both teams surprisingly had a bad day and were not able to perform. Luiz added another goal for Brazil in the second half that seemed to wake up the Colombian but was enough for James to score from a penalty with 10 minutes to go.
