World Cup Day 4: No surprises, Almost!

Group E kicked off on day 3 with France walking all over Honduras but Benzema will not have it easy in the remaining two matches as Ecuadro and Switzerland put on a show for the spectators that ended with a last minute winning goal for Switzerland. Messi scored his 2nd World Cup goal ending an over 500 minutes drought ensuring the tango victory over difficult first timers Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Stu Forster

SWITZERLAND 2-1 ECUADOR

An early Valencia goal for Ecuador put the pressure on the FIFA fourth ranked international team Switzerland. German coach Hetzfeld made a substitute after another making all the difference. First Substitute Mehmedi scored the tie goal with a text book header similar to Ecuador goal. Ex-Viola Severovic came in late in the match and scored the winning goal in the last minute of the additional time showcasing his striking abilities.

FRANCE 3-0 HONDURAS

A very dull match was in store for football fans but makes you only anticipate France meetings with the other 2 group teams.  Honduras best player in the first half Palacios committed a foul in his own box against Pogba and was sent off before the penalty was converted by Benzema. Valladares made things easier for the French by scoring in his own goal. Benzema joined the race for the golden boot by scoring his second and third for France with less than 20 minutes remaining on the match.

ARGENTINA 2-1 BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA

Started off badly for new comers Bosnia as they put the ball in their own goal in the third minute and wound up chasing the game from then on. A Messi goal doubled the lead and seem to herald the end for Bosnia, but the debutantes got one back and had Argentina holding on at the end. Given the rest of the group, Argentina should have a fairly easy run of it.
