Atalanta beat Avellino today 2-0 after a first half double from Ghanian talent Richmond Boakye, and now advance to meet our Fiorentina in the next round of the Coppa Italia. La Viola were seeded directly into the Round of 16 thanks to last season's finish, and will also host this single elimination tie against the Bergamaschi, expected to take place January 14th.

Atalanta are a comfortable draw for Fiorentina, with this team already having beaten the nerazzurri once this season in Bergamo, and the coming cup tie to be played in Florence. The rest of the bracket, however, is not nearly as friendly. Should our boys advance, they will likely face Roma in the quarterfinal, who will face the winner of Empoli - Genoa. Juventus would also be a potential draw for a very hypothetical semifinal. All this makes for a difficult march to repeat last year's Coppa Italia Final appearance, although later ties could feature Giuseppe Rossi.
