News has broken this morning that Marco Donadel is off to start a new adventure in Canada, with the ex Fiorentina, Napoli, and Verona man joining the Montreal Impact, pending the approval of his visa. As per MLS policy, details of the deal were not included, but the former Italy U-21 captain will likely be on medium-high wages, and was signed as a free agent after Hellas Verona rescinded his contract at the beginning of the season.

Here's Donadel's statement on the official Montreal Impact site: "I am very pleased with this opportunity to join the Impact," said Donadel. "Since the first training session in Montreal, the club made me feel like a part of their family. Throughout this process, I felt like the Impact really wanted me to be a part of the team. I would like to thank all those who helped make this possible. I am really looking forward to January to get this adventure started."

Marco Donadel played 184 Serie A games for la Viola as well as 26 European games between 2005 and 2011. He didn't score many times, but anyone else remember this peach of a goal against Bari? With him moving on to America the same week that Cesare Prandelli was let go from his new job at Galatasaray, it feels like the days of the "Prandelli Show" were ages and ages ago. All the best Marco, sempre uno di noi!
