Back to the Island-Catania - Fiorentina

mutu-1

Boosted by the return of our #10 we head to Catania this weekend in hopes of finally getting a kickstart to our season.

Last weeks 2-1 victory was important as a morale booster as it was taking us out of dead last. With Catania this week and Chievo next week we finally have the means to move up the table before the November crunch month with Roma, Milan, and Juve. Theres some vast improvement in the injury department with Vargas returning to the starting XI but D'Agostino although healed has not worked with the ball and could feature next week. Montolivo is going to grit his teeth for this one and Donadel, even with Zanetti doing better, is immovable. Unfortunately it can't be all rosy for us (and when is it ever?) Reports are saying Gila has come down with the flu and could be replaced with Babacar from the 1st minute. Mutu looks set to take Ljajic's place and Santana on the other side. Looks like a Prandelli style 4-4-2 this weekend.

The Elephants are going to show up in Andujar in goal, ex-man Potenza, Silvestre, Spioli, and Capuano in the back, Carboni, Mascare, Izco, Biagianti and Ricchiuti in mid, and Antenucci up front. The big relief is the disqualification of deadly Argentine Maxi Lopez who sits this one out.

This isn't an easy one. We lost 1-0 here last season (Ironically against Miha's Catania) and down south is always a hot stadium. Still Mutu's return should inject much need needed life into this team and lets hope for a good match.

FORZA VIOLA!!!
