It’s been a quiet week so far for the Viola, and I don’t care much to blog when there is little to talk about, so I have mostly been keeping my head down and getting on with my real job. There have, however, been a few pieces of interesting news as we move towards our big weekend showdown with Napoli….
First, over the last few days there has been a lot going around about Adi Mutu retiring from international football. That one smelled fishy from the beginning, but here is Adrian’s official denial that he is quitting the Romanian team.
This next piece is from last week (while I was away) and is an editorial extolling the virtues of Stevan Jovetic. Nothing groundbreaking here, but a good heads-up on the boy who could be the team’s next star.
Finally, U.S. sports giant ESPN.com takes a rare look at Fiorentina as it previews all the teams in the Champions League group stage, which start for the Viola next Wednesday. There’s little here that’s new about Fiorentina, but it is a useful primer for anyone interested in learning a little more about the other three teams in the group or any team in the CL.
That’s all for now. I will be back later this week with the Napoli preview and wrap-up, and we will begin thinking about Lyon after that. Take care, everyone!
